I arrive at the nest around 5:45 am . Sit waiting on Harriet . She was very quiet again this morning. I'm still not use to her being this non-vocal in the mornings. I'm sure this will all change once Ozzie gets home for several reasons. One because Ozzie is home and second because I'm sure PB will still be hanging around for a bit. I hope PB moves on quickly so there isn't too much confrontation . And what I mean by confrontation is just the chasing of PB out of the area. I'm not saying it will always be physical. It just might be a matter of flying after him to get PB to leave.
Harriet is the first in the nest this morning. Checking the nest ,a little aerating and just sitting and looking around. PB must have been sleeping in this morning.. He flies to the attic branch then down into the nest with Harriet . Both checking their handy work from yesterday to see what will be needed for today if anything. A quick assessment by both and PB goes to the porch branch then off to the west pasture looking for a rail to bring in. He sure does like that area. PB finds a nice sized rail and back to the nest he goes. PB get's his branch placed and does some aerating again then off to the west pasture treeline. PB lands in dead pine. It looks like he is checking his talons from where I am . I have not gone over to the driveway side to get better photo's. I guess I need to start doing this since it doesn't seem to be " against the rules any more" that someone was trying to enforce with all of the visitors and other photographers this whole season. SMH
Any way, PB leaves the tree and heads down towards the ground and is flying low. Now this is where I lost him. I know he is still over there somewhere ,I just can't see him. Harriet is still in the nest watching PB . Glad someone has an eye on him...lol At 6:46 am from the west pasture treeline, PB heads off towards the Publix pond and banks left with the crows following him. I guess hes headed to the Norfolk pines that I can not see from the Church side. Harriet still in the nest watching PB as he leaves and which direction he went. 6:48 am Harriet leaves also in the same direction as PB with 2 crows following her. Harriet has this very loud high pitched vocal she does when those crows are right on her tail. You can tell that they must have pecked at her tail when she does this. Boy not a happy camper at all. So I'm guessing by the way someone packed up and left in a hurry and headed over to the quiet neighbourhood, that PB & Harriet must be there..... Again I must SMH .........
So this will be the way of things from here on out. Early morning nestorations and gone . Some days they may leave right away others they may stay for a few hrs as it has already been noted. So photo's will be few and far between unless they bring in something big or different than usual. Or if they go to a pond tree or the pond on the property . This is how my days went last summer watching Ozzie and Harriet. Now I do have to wonder out loud , with Ozzie coming back from a long "disappearance" .. what will the mornings be like, the afternoons and the evenings??? Will it be like he was never gone or will they be like a couple of Lovestruck kids getting to know each other again? Here is a great story.http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2011/07/19/138478525/eagle-love-story-injured-mates-reunited-at-rehab-center
So I ..like so many of you ,can't wait for the day Ozzie comes home to see it all unfold. A New Begin......a New Chapter in the lives of Ozzie & Harriet .

No work today... just a relaxing morning
I arrive at the nest around 5:40 am . It takes me a few mins to setup. I find Harriet and PB in the nest tree. The same place they were last night before the cams went off air again. Harriet on an outer branch and PB up from her . There's no "Good Morning " vocals from Harriet. I really miss the conversations she and Ozzie would have first thing in the morning. PB moves a little down the attic branch and is feaking his beak. Harriet is just sitting there. PB done with feaking his beak drops down into the nest checking things out. PB leaves the nest and heads to what seems to be his favor spot now in the west pasteur by a group of palms and the fallen tree. Harriet is still on her branch doing a little preening. I tell her all about Ozzie . I just hope she half way understands me ...lol
PB leaves around 6:46 am . Harriet is being pestered by the smaller birds and the Crows. She calls out to the other bids to leave her alone but of course that doesn't work. Harriet leaves just a second later towards the Publix pond. Well no work on the nest again today. I pack up to go to Publix, it's that time for a nature break for me. Done... I go to the pond to see if by chance Harriet or PB is there. Well I get lucky. Harriet is there in the pine on the right side of the pond. No PB. He must have gone somewhere else. He wasn't in the norfolk pine when I left the church area. Harriet leaves that pine and goes to one on the other side but a bit further back. There are some other ducks in the pond today.I got to see my first ever Wood Ducks. A male and female. Then the resident Mottled Ducks.
Harriet is very quiet. She gives a glance over at the ducks.. as the Wood Ducks swim across the pond closer to me and past me, then back to looking south again. The Mottled Ducks decide it's their turn to have their pics taken and come right up to me. Now with a 400mm lens they are to close so I back up a bit and start taking their photo's .HAHA they are posing for me . They then move away from me which is easier to get them together now. Down to the bank and off into the pond they go and swim to the other side. Then some female Grackles show up. More that want their pictures taken.LOL Harriet is still quiet. I must say, I'm not not worried.. I'm just wondering why Harriet is quiet right now and has been the past couple of mornings. I'm use to her vocalizing at least every now and then. By now Harriet has herself turned facing the south. Someone or something has her attention that way. I leave Harriet to her peaceful morning around 8:40 am ...

A Nestoration kind of day..... 3- 2 Harriet's favor
Well after taking the day off yesterday,Harriet and PB bring in sticks and continue nestroations today.
The morning starts off with Harriet on the nest At 6:07 am from the front pine. She is doing some aerating of the nest.6:10 PB to the attic branch then down to the nest. Both are aerating the nest then PB steps up to the spike branch. Harriet is still on the nest , then PB back on the nest.6:20 am - Harriet steps up to the veranda then to the attic branch. 6:22 am PB heads off to the west then back at 6:24 am with a stick tries to place it then goes to the to the spike branch. 6:31 am Harriet leaves the attic branch flies towards the right pond tree, now this is a guess because of sounds of her vocals. They are off in the distance.Lots of vocals from Harriet .I'll bet the crows are bothering her again. PB is on the nest watching and vocalizes back once. At 6:43 am Harriet is back on the nest with a crib rail. Wow imagine that! A good sized stick at that.
At 6:45 am PB heads off to the west and Harriet goes to the spike branch. 6:48am PB is back with a crib rail. Well we are at 2 for 1 now. Not to be out done , at 6:51 am Harriet flies to the west and back she comes with even bigger stick..LOL 2 for 2 ..
PB up to the spike branch and Harriet still in the nest. Pb back on the nest and both are aerating the nest.6:55 am Harriet to the veranda then up to the attic branch while PB is in the nest preening. Harriet leaves the attic branch headed west again and I guess the crows follow because you can hear Harriet's vocals . At 7:04 am Harriet back with another stick. Now it's 3 -2 Harriet's favor...LOL.... PB to the spike branch at 7:07 am then leaves and heads west the across the road . Probably heading to the Norfolk pine. Harriet is still in the nest vocalizing and watching. Harriet is still in the nest vocalizing off and on then she heads up to the veranda then leaves at 7:14 am headed to the Norfolk pine I'm sure . This seems to be the routine so far in the morning.
This is what goes on when the cam's are off. This is what I have been trying to tell everyone all season long. Just because a Mod didn't see it last summer doesn't mean it didn't happen. Other locals that have been following Ozzie and Harriet longer than me , have said this is normal for Ozzie and Harriet. Again , we will all see ,as the days get hotter , the less we will see of them or one of them. Now that Harriet has to do this more or less by herself, meaning no Ozzie yet... we'll see more of her I think. Ozzie is the nest builder, Harriet was as PB is now.. brings a few things then leaves .Ozzie started bringing in sticks/crib rails way before E 4 fledged and after he was out of the nest flying around the nest area. Again we have to remember.. This is Harriet's nest for now until Ozzie gets home. She will do what comes natural ,instinct to her and that's to start building on the nest. So even though I didn't go to the nest this morning , I could still give you all a report from watching the cam until the cams are turned off. I know a lazy way of doing it but I have not being feeling well and decided it was a good day to stay home and rest. I do have some screen captures of this morning.

A look back ....
As I sit here this morning before going to the nest , I'm thinking of how this season went. Wow it's been a long bumpy ride this yr. As we all sat patiently, excitedly waiting for the eggs to come. Then We have one egg, then we 2 eggs.Oh the joy and then the excitement builds as we wait for the first egg to hatch. Just before the first egg hatches, Ozzie hurt his talon (claw) again Harriet had and imbalance issue which was so upsetting to watch her from day to day but she carried on. Ozzie was so tender and helpful those days. Gave Harriet more time off the eggs to do what she needed to do for her and what ever issue she had. At one time , it was thought she had fishing line or some thing wrapped around her wing. I and many other photographers took photo after photo looking and we never could see anything. So what ever it was , went away just like the imbalance issue. Ozzie's talon got better . Then we have a hatch! What a great day! E5 was here and we all rejoiced and waited for egg #2. E6 came into the world and we ..we were so eggtatic. Ya 2 bobbleheads again this year. But will all be better this year. Will both survive and leave us one day? E5 was more dominant, demanding, and there for got most of the food. Little E 6 just wasn't big enough and quite strong enough to ward off E5's bonking and roughness. I can say now, I was worried. Just the human emotions coming out. Trust the Eagles is what kept me and many others going and believing that Ozzie and Harriet will do what they have been doing without us for so many years and that's take care of their young. Harriet did, as we watched in amazement how Harriet and E6 figured out a way for him to get fed. These special night time feedings were absolutely astonishing to watch. How Harriet and E 6 knew to wait until E 5 was full and asleep just amazed me and I'm sure the rest of the viewers . WTG Harriet. These nightly feedings helped E6 gain the strength to grow and be able to survive E5's bonking and the relentless physical abuse. Little did we know that one day this would all take a turn for the worst. Our beautiful E5 would would be lost to us at such a young age. Oh our world turned upside down with the passing of E5 . Not again we would all say, how could this happen again. What is going on with our Eagles that we can not see or understand. The heart ache was great. But this time Ozzie and Harriet moved on quicker than they did with E3 . To watch that with E 3 was the most heart wrenching , amazing , informational thing I have ever seen. Made me understand that Eagles DO have feelings and to me DO express grief in their own way .
OK Back to the business of raising E6 . Ooh what a pistol this one is and a talker too. Not E4 but still a talker. With His little whistle -peeps and sounds of pure enjoyment every time he ate or Mom or Dad came to the nest . Ozzie has always enjoyed sitting with his kids. He gives Harriet more time to herself during the day. But when E6 gets to be a bit too much,Ozzie lets her know it's time to come home.
We have an Eaglet that is growing like a weed and getting more demanding and pushy as the weeks go by. So it gets to where Ozzie doesn't stay very long when dropping off the food. E6 will whine to Harriet to come down and feed him. Aw such a big baby. Harriet does this with the Love and Tenderness every Mother has for their offspring's. Soon E6 is flapping all over the place and we know it will be soon E6 will go to that first branch, then to another and another. E6 is branching and scaring the you- know what out some of the viewers. LOL It did me a few times too.
Then one day we are all waiting for Ozzie to come home. Harriet is calling , E6 is a bit hungry and we're all getting a bit worried. The next day ..still no Ozzie and Harriet is still calling and looking for him. Our hearts are in are throats as we sit ,and watch and wait. Where could he be? This... to the contrary is not normal for Ozzie or Harriet to do . They do not stay away this long, never have. so something is wrong. We all get our answer, one that shocked us all , scared us, worried us and yes had us all in tears. Ozzie was found injured... Thank God he was found !!!! Ozzie found by a wonderful person who was able to get a hold of the right people and stay when him until they came a got him... CROW has our Ozzie and I , All Thank You for that. We now know where Ozzie is at and some what know what happened to him.
Back at home , Harriet still trying to find Ozzie . E6 continuing on his growing up and Fledged ! Woohoo what a great day for all. I know I might have left out some things but I'm just winging it here. You all can fill in as you read. LOL
Now we have visitors to the nest . Holy smokes I have never seen so many Eagles , at different ages . I'm excited and concerned at the same time. Harriet is without Ozzie to run off the others and E6 just fledged and is just a baby. OH but was I wrong on E6 being a baby..... What a grown up Fledgling he became with Ozzie gone. He protected his nest and nest area almost as much as an Adult Eagle would. There were times I worried about E6 getting hurt. I understand this gave him great training but still he is young. He would chase after others older than him and keep them out of "his"nest. I watched in amazement at how well E6 took on the job as protector of all that is His and Mom's while Ozzie has been gone. I wish you all could have been standing there with me watching all of this unfold from day to day. As the other Eagles came and went , we had one that stuck around chasing others off and being chased by Harriet and E6. He was a persistent fellow and soon I guess Harriet just kept him around for the protection he provided . E6 didn't much care for him and let him know every chance he got...LOL Soon PB became a regular and not all agree but I thank God he has been there for Harriet and E6 . Sure he stole E6's food but at the same time it was teaching E6 to protect his food better. Out there , away from home there will be more than one trying to get your food. E6 is the most prepared Juvie ,I think that we have had. Did he get his own squirrel ? I'd like to think so. He did come back to the nest with a small bird too. He even protected the yonder pond from an Adult and it's Fledgling. Now that was brave. I was so worried that the adult was going to go for E6.
One day E6 left. Our Hearts were broken . The emptiness we all felt for 26 hrs. That little stinker. Out testing his new found freedom and had us all upset. Well in the long run...I guess it really prepared us for the Day he did leave us to be all he can be as a Juvie then a Magnificent Adult Eagle. I have no doubt in my mind that E6 will make it .
Now this leaves us with no one at home most of the time. Ozzie is still at CROW but doing well and I hope will be home by the end of the month, maybe first week of June ... This is just my opinion.. Nothing more .. I don't have in side info or a magic ball, it's just something I hope for.
Harriet continues to be at the nest with PB. No matter what others think , I would rather see Harriet with PB tagging along than to be by herself. The thought of her sitting for however long on the nest or the nest tree by herself just makes me cry. She is moving on doing what she knows to do and that's to get the nest ready again. This is her home. Hers and Ozzie's if Ozzie keeps on getting better. If for some reason Ozzie can't make it home, at least Harriet does have some one to carry on with. PB will learn , it may take until nesting season comes around again but he will learn.
Back from the nest . Both Harriet and PB decided to take the day off . Harriet was in the nest for a bit then went back to the front pine tree. PB left there and went to the fallen tree in the west pasture again. I think he likes it over there. Harriet left the front pine and went to a pine just behind a group of palms by the fallen tree where PB is. Harriet was preening and PB just chill-in . PB left first to the Norfolk pine. a few Min's later Harriet headed that way too. I left around 7:20 am to go to CROW with Joni to take some donations and live shrimp for the baby otters. Of course we bought the shrimp at a bait shop close to CROW . LOL

PB brings his first Crib Rail & Harriet comes back to the nest to Eat.
I arrive a bit off my schedule this morning around 5:50-55.I see someone is already in the nest.Well good to see Harriet in the nest and PB still on an outer branch. I take a few photo's and wait to see what they will do today. Harriet is doing some aerating and PB finally drops down to the nest to help Harriet out. Of course there is the usual breaking and then PB goes to the branching branch then off the nest he goes towards the west pasture and lands by the downed tree again. He seems to like that area for playing and looking for things for the nest. It takes a few Min's, but Donna was able to spot him on the ground. LOL he looks so little at this distance. All you can see is his white head popping up. PB is moving around and then we see him coming in.Well I'll be ,PB had a stick and a nice long one to boot. WTG PB you finally got that stick..lol
Harriet was perched and watching PB too. She even vocalize like.... Woohoo You did it!
PB got to place his stick where he wanted it. Harriet still on the attic branch watching and plotting her move. The crows are still bothering her. Harriet leaves the nest tree and flies to the west treeline to avoid the crows. She is looking around this tree doesn't find anything she likes,so she heads to the tree to her left , doesn't find anything there goes past the first tree she was in and flies to a palm tree, tries to get a branch and ends up hanging there upside down..LOL Silly Harriet .
From there Harriet goes back to the second tree she was at and finds her a stick. Not as big as PB tho.
She places her stick and then PB drops down to the nest to help Harriet out. Of course we all know that doesn't go well with Harriet and more beak bonking. PB gives up heads to the veranda then to the attic branch then leaves the nest tree headed to the Norfolk pine and past it may be to the other one we can't see from the church side. PB flies right over Donna and I . Wow I always get goosebumps when they do that. About a minute later Harriet decides it's time for her to go also. She leaves from the veranda headed across the road then to the same area as PB went.

Both are across the road and I stay for a bit . Around 8:46 am Harriet flies in with a fish . Good thing I stayed . The crows are bothering her again. Harriet is also looking around for PB..LOL I wonder where she left him at. Harriet finally gets to eat her breakfish. Done with that Harriet goes to the veranda then leaves again headed back too the Norfolk tree where a crow has followed and is dive bombing her. The crow gives up and Harriet sits there for a little while .Around 8:30 am Harriet is gone so I leave too. I so enjoyed this morning. Just Harriet and me even if it was just for a little bit.

Harriet slept in the nest tree by herself last night........
At 5:41 pm last night...for me when I saw it, cam 1 went down or off air. 11:42 pm cam 2 went off air . Lets see what today brings.
At 8:05 pm last night... I saw 1 adult on the nest from cam 2 . Could not ID because cam 2 never zoomed . It was in the nest then went to a branch just next to but below the attic branch ,never did see the other one come in. I'm guessing it's Harriet but will find out here soon who all is home this morning.
I arrive at the around 5:40 am and get set up. I find Harriet in the nest tree where she was last night. All by herself. This just broke my heart. Aww.. I hope PB hasn't left Harriet all alone. I would much rather see him around until Ozzie gets home then to see Harriet by herself. The first photo was taken at 5:45 am See what happens when I try to take a photo at night without setting it all up first..LOL The second one is at 6:02 am . These are just informational photo's any way. I do this just so I can try and see where they are.
PB come in from the west pasture treeline at 6:24 am and lands on the attic branch.I was very happy to see PB. Harriet is moving out further on her branch maybe she is going to get some pine this morning. PB drops down to the nest and is checking it out.Harriet is still move further out on her branch. 6:28 am Harriet leaves her branch and heads to the west treeline. Not sure if she had any thing or not when she gets back from the west tree. Both do some moving of nesting stuff PB goes to the branching branch then Harriet takes off again at 6:37 am headed to the west tree line. PB moves up to the attic branch. 6:40 am PB leaves towards the Publix pond.Harriet comes back with a stick this time. She lands in the nest and vocalizes.Harriet up to the branching branch ( veranda ) then heads off towards the Publix pond also at 6:43 am . Boy what a short morning with these two but this will be the way of things all summer. Some days here for a while ,then other days real short. Again I have to say it , what I am seeing is a role reversal from what I saw Ozzie and Harriet do last summer. Ozzie brought in most of the sticks and stuff while Harriet watched or brought in very little or left right away. Harriet did pick upon the branch bring in around August I think it was... Harriet sure is showing us that this "Is Her Nest" now and so far she plans on staying here and re-building.
I didn't stay too long after they left. No one on the Norfolk pine, or at Publix pond nor at Bob's as I went past.......

Nest building 101 for PB
5:54 am ::: Well look who I found this morning. Harriet on the lower branch ,PB above her a little to the right. Good Morning you two.
Harriet moves to the porch branch at 6:11 am then into the nest. PB joins her a minute later. Nest rebuilding and refurbishing begins.. Both are aerating the nest then PB goes up to the attic branch ,Harriet is in the nest . I did not see PB leave , but did see him back in the nest again around 6:32 am. Maybe he was laying down again...LOL .. PB was sitting so close behind Harriet it looked like just one of them was there. Now this is from the ground looking up into the tree for me not a cam view. Harriet leaves the nest for the west pasteur tree's looking for a stick or something. Yep a stick . Back she comes with a small stick. Both are trying to place the stick and of course you know what happens then. Harriet is the boss and PB just needs to let her place it . Harriet moves some moss around and the pine. PB looks to be sitting by the spike branch, Harriet is zipping her tail feathers. I dont know what PB did but Harriet really lets him have it. PB gets around her and moves a stick. I wish they would quite changing places..LOL Now Harriet is by the spike branch, she flies off the nest heads to a pine tree in the west pasture near the driveway, well it's not really that close.
From here she goes to the tree line and from tree to another tree looking for the right branch. Finally finds one and back she comes to the nest. Actually it looks like a small clump of something.Oh well .
A little more nestorations then Harriet flies up to the attic branch. PB still in the nest. 6:57 a Harriet heads for the Publix pond area with crows in tow . Shes not there long. Harriet went and got her a nice big stick from Ozzie lumberyard. I'm just amazed that she knows where he has been getting the big sticks from. All the times I watched them and I thought Harriet wasn't paying any attention . I should have known better. I hope PB was watching also. He needs to learn all of this.
PB ducks out of the way as Harriet comes in with the stick. Harriet gets it placed where she wants it. This is such a switch from Ozzie and Harriet working on the nest. Like I said before ,Ozzie did most of the work and Harriet watched or brought in the fluff and maybe a stick or two. PB really needs to step up his game on this. With that said, PB leaves the nest headed towards the pond trees I think. From where I was standing by now , there's a big tree in my way..lol I finally see PB headed to the west pasture followed by a few crows. Wow they are really getting him. PB flies to the fallen tree where he was yesterday.
7:00 am Harriet moves to the veranda then leaves headed to the Publix pond area then past that. I lost sight of her. PB follows around 7:05 am with crows close behind him. I looked for them on the Norfolk pine before I left, they weren't there . They weren't at Bob's either as I went past his place. So maybe they did go to the river this time , who knows.
Harriet is such a great Eagle. Not only did she teach E 6 all she could before he left, she is now teaching PB the things an Adult needs to know. I'm sure he has seen it with his own parents but that was so long ago. They say Eagles are great nest builders but yet we see how one is teaching the other. The instinct is there but PB needs a little more motivation, a helping hand, a push and a shove...LOL Some day PB will make a great mate for another Female Eagle .
I wanted to share this from Tomp our Morning Mod from chat Thank You Tomp Have a great summer .http://www.hancockwildlife.org/forum/viewtopic.php?topic=771395#771395

Early Morning 4:36 am
4:36 am I'm looking thru facebook , have the cam up and I hear Harriet already. well good morning to you Harriet. I wonder what today will bring. How much work you'll do before you leave or will you just head out early this morning ?
I was also sitting here thinking that today I would post dates and times from last summer of when I saw Ozzie and Harriet. Hmmmm that would take a long time to do but might be worth it so it gives all of you and idea of how much time they spent on the nest working. My very first blog doesn't have all that. I started writing it in August and was going back to May of that year and didn't get dates and times in. An after thought now. I should know better too. Dates and times are always good to put in a report . I'm not even sure if any of you really care if there are dates and times or if the information is correct.Maybe it's just me that has a thing about it...LOL I'm thinking maybe it's me.
I want this to be an enjoyable blog to read but yet I also want the information I put out there to be correct to the best of my knowledge and remembering the events of what I was watching. Photo's do help me a lot but there are times I can not take or get a photo, they might have flown off before I could get my camera ready or it's too dark to get a photo. What ever the case maybe. I'll think on this some more but for now time to go visit Harriet and PB . Boy it will be great when I can say Ozzie and Harriet again.
10:12 am : Home from the nest
I arrive at the nest around 5:45am I didn't hear Harriet yet. At 6:05 am I see Harriet is in the nest. She looks too be aerating the nest. I set up my camera so I can see her better thru my lens. 6:06 am PB lands on the porch branch the enters the nest. They both do some aerating of the nest then PB lays down ...LOL This just cracks me up that PB does this. I can see Harriet look back at him a couple of times like "What are you doing ? We have things to do!" PB does get up and they are sitting there . Harriet looking west and PB starts to play with the strap...LOL that strap is so stretched out now from E6 . Both are sitting. I guess just taking in the beautiful morning that is starting . Then Harriet leaves the nest to the west pasture to a tree . PB then leaves the nest headed to the ground in the west pasture. I lost Harriet in one of the trees but spot PB. He's sitting on a fallen tree doing some preening and looking around. I hear Harriet vocalizes a couple of times and PB looks around for her but doesn't move. Harriet comes to the nest but not sure if she has anything. I continue to watch PB as he is moving around a stick . A nice long one that he got from the tree pile he was sitting on. He seems to be having a bit of a problem getting it just right in his talon and trying to take off with it.PB takes off with the stick but ends up on the ground with it. He does try a few times then finally gives up and flies back to the nest tree empty talon. Ooh the poor guy. He sure did try.
This link has a set of photo's showing PB trying to get the stick and fly but it didn't work
https://www.facebook.com/deeagle55/photos/pcb.352831551576505/352831341576526/?type=1&theater
PB lands on the porch branch then joins Harriet in the nest. Some more aerating then PB flies up to the veranda. Harriet does aerating and moves some of nest material, PB decides to join Harriet again. This is not always a good thing for PB Harriet beak-bonks him. Harriet goes back to aerating and I'm not sure if PB was trying to give Harriet a sweet little peck on the back of her neck or if he was beaking her back but in any case Harriet sure didn't like it and let PB have it. Oh my ...LOL
This goes on for a few seconds then Harriet walks over to the spike branch the leaves headed to the west treeline again. There she finds a stick that had a little bit of pine on it and brings it back to the nest. And of course with there is a crow following her the whole way.
After Harriet lands in the nest, PB gets the stick from her and places the stick. Now I'm impressed ! Harriet was watching also and I'm thinking she was a bit impressed too.
Harriet steps up to the veranda perches for a bit then heads up to the attic branch where she lets the crows know to go away.

PB then goes to the veranda and both are perched enjoy the morning of lessons learned and some nestorations done . Harriet vocalizes off and on. The vocals to me where like " I'm home, My nest, " and maybe for Ozzie and E 6.. I just know they were not agitated or stressful vocals to me. 8:10 am Harriet then leaves the nest tree ,she flies right over PB and the photo I have looks like she is looking at him as she goes. A few seconds later PB leaves the nest tree going in the same direction as Harriet went which is towards the Norfolk pine. I stay for awhile longer. Around 9:48 am I get ready to leave and check ,Harriet it looks like is in the Norfolk pine but no PB . It was a great morning. I really enjoyed Harriet sticking around and watching PB learning more. The days are getting warmer and soon they won't stick around as long. Don't worry ... Ozzie will find Harriet when he gets home.

Harriet is up before the Rooster
5/9/15
Well this morning Harriet was up before the Rooster was...LOL She went to the nest real early and it was still a bit dark out for good photos so I just sat and watched her. PB came to the nest a little bit after Harriet. I tried watching on my phone but that didn't work well either the signal kept going out. But I did get to see someone pulling on the strap like E6 did before it went out again. Of course you all know who it was.... Harriet LOL..... I didn't find out until I got back from the nest.
Harriet did do some small nestorations and brought in some pine again. She's bonking PB . It looked like PB was trying to help again. I think I'll just add tomorrow to this.Right now the way things are going the best I can do for now is to take a video with my camera. I found out how to turn the sound off so now you don't have to cover your ears.. LOL
5/10/15 Teaching Day for PB........
This morning Kathy met me at the nest. Around 5:30 am Kathy said there looks like someone is in the nest already. Yep sure enough Harriet drops down to the nest and is checking it out. Harriet also pulls on the strap..LOL it must be a family thing. Ozzie started it and now Harriet is finishing it up I guess.
Good Morning vocals from Harrit . This always puts a great big smile on my face and I tell Harriet Good Morning too. PB arrives to the nest tree on an upper branch to the right as I am looking at the tree from the ground. Still to dark for me to get photo's so just sit and watch. Harriet goes up to the attic branch then as she leaves ,she tries to get some pine but didn't and heads for the R-pond tree with crows in tow. They dive bomb her a few times and then Harriet tries to break a branch off but ends up - upside down and no branch( I didn't get a photo, but I did get a short video of it ) then flies to the west pasture tree.
There she gets a small stick . Harriet goes back to the west tree and this time she brings in some moss. Both Harriet and PB are trying to arrange the moss just right but some beak bonking is going on. PB up to the veranda and Harriet off to the west pasture again this time PB goes too and lands on the ground. Harriet in a tree looking for a stick and PB on the ground looking for whatever. Harriet brings in another stick and PB brings in some grass/nesting material .
I truly feel that this is teaching time with PB. This is the first time I have seen him bring in anything to the nest. Harriet is teaching as she goes on with her day- to-day routine. PB in my opinion is just a young'un and will learn what he can until Ozzie comes home. PB will leave . I see Harriet doing what Ozzie always did, bringing in the sticks and building and PB doing what Harriet did, sit and watch at times then maybe bring in a few things. Role reversal. Amazing!
They continue to move the new stuff around and beak bonking. With that done they are both sitting back by the spike branch just looking to the west. Around 7:15 am Harrit leaves first headed towards the norfolk pine with 2 crows following her, but goes past it .We know there is another one she sits in but just can't see it from the Church side. I know it's been seen on cam 2 tho. PB leaves just a short time after Harriet in the same direction.
Kathy and I drive over to look for the other pines and find Harriet in one and PB in another. What a beautiful place they are at. I would soo love to live there and wake up to Eagles sitting in my backyard every morning.
Kathy and I leave there and head back to the Church. As we are sitting there waiting to cross the street ,,Harriet flies past as if she wanted to see us again. We watch her and she goes past the Church then to her left. We pull up in the parking lot and as I'm getting out of the truck, there goes PB headed in the same direction. Kathy leaves and I istay just in case Harriet comes to the nest. Kathy finds them both st Bob's place. Kathy told me when she got back that Harriet vocalized when she got out of the truck. I'm telling you ,she does know some of us . This was around 8:30 am. We stayed around for a couple of hrs then we went home.

PB |
I truly believe that Harriet is teaching PB. He is definitely a young'un and doesn't know anything about nest building. PB will learn all he can before Ozzie gets home. I sit and watch and what I see is a role reversal . Ozzie was the one that brought in all the sticks and Harriet did some but mostly the soft material and some times just sat and watched Ozzie or left... I see Harriet doing the sticks and PB just watching . This is the first time I have seen PB bring in anything for the nest. Only time will tell how much PB will help.
What we are seeing sitting there and on the cam is what Ozzie and Harriet have always done. They don't leave the area. We never paid any attention before when they left the nest area. We ALL assumed they were headed out to the river or as some say they left the area.. NOT SO !
They have never gone anywhere, We just never looked for them. So we may not see them for hrs on end , or maybe not for a day or two but that still doesn't mean they left the area. Look early in the mornings and late in the evening , you just might see them.
I'm hoping when Ozzie gets back and he see's all the work that needs to be done on the nest, We'll get to see more of them this summer.
